1/2" Hexie Madness!

I have had a busy week (maybe lazy?). Have spent very little time at the sewing machine. Poor Nina must be feeling neglected and unloved. She usually goes at a pace!

Instead Chino, Toti and I have sat around. They sleep while I do my hexies! Just loving it!

One on the couch and the other on the floor!

Chino

Soo cute, Toti

Solutions!!

I am making an effort this year to complete some UFO's. When I start a new quilt I work madly till all hours to get it made. But when I get stuck and cannot work out how to progress or achieve my vision I STOP!!

I wanted to tie these together, had an idea, but no idea how to do it!

After looking at it on my wall for days whilst I work on other things I decided just to do it!

I am really happy with the progress! Great to retrieve something from the too hard basket!

Had to appliqué each individually as I made them to ensure correct placement.

Another handy tool I used is a blue bendy ruler/thing!

I've had great fun!

When this is done and quilted a new one starts (fabric pull shown in a previous blog!)

Happy quilting all.

Untitled

From UFO to WIP!

I started this quilt four or five, maybe 6 years ago. I had seen a photo of a quilt like this in a magazine. With help from Chris Boxer, a round ruler and paper and pencil I learned how to draft these. I designed them as I went, then used appliqués to attach them to the background

But then after appliqué I got stuck. I wanted turcoise triangles flying around the quilt. After a bit of trying it went into the toooooo hard basket. No wonder I have sooooo many baskets!

Now I have pulled blues and dusted off the ruler! This is going to happen!!

Wish me luck.

Love to hear your comments!

Unused orphan blocks

I finished this log cabin quilt in December 2012, Cabin Fever.

When pulling fabrics for the new quilt I found some orphan blocks. What to do? Spent a few hours putting this together. Great fun. Used a FQ of Rowan that I had purchased at my LQS. Could not leave the fabric in the shop!!

Happy with my little mat!

Planning a new quilt is exciting and challenging!

I have spent hours pulling (and buying) fabrics! Love it!
What do you think? Bright enough?
May have to cull a bit...........

Scrappy delight

An added bonus little quilt. 14" square now lives on my kitchen wall.

Left over scraps from 3/4 wonky log cabin houses.

Ready for quilting

On the wall in the kitchen.

Next finish! Would you believe that my lippy and emergency make up rolls around in my handbag! Now we have a neat little make up purse 6" long.

A good week of finishes.

Now I am going shopping at my LQS!

Happy finishes to y'all.

Wonky Houses finished

After all the devastation, this quilt is now on the wall! I'm so pleased with it!

What do you think? I would love your comments!

Blocking and wetting it fixed the shape
