Drawing a compass

For those who expressed interest in the process. I've drawn one this morning with pics taken.

This ruler: Sewing Revolution from Queensland. Phone: 07 5532 7242

Thumb tack in the centre, choose a circle and place your pencil in one of the little holes. Holding the thumb tack in place, draw a circle by using the pencil to rotate the ruler. Drawn a number of different size circles

Using your ruler mark divisions across your circles through the centre.

Now it is just a matter of erasing lines you don't want ie in the centre, and joining others to form triangles!

Now I cut the circles out and. Paper piece each round, outer circle, next circle etc. the circles are attached to each other by appliqués.

when I have some energy to paper piece again, I'll take pics if any one is interested!

Yay!!! At last!!

At last all done. So much planning, drawing compasses with a round ruler, pencil, paper and eraser! This was followed by paper piecing the compasses.

Pics are not special as it is night time and light is not fabulous!

A few close ups.....

A bit more quilting..... I went crazy going round and round with circles intersecting!

I so happy it's done!

Good pieceful night, not piecing but quilting.

Happy Day, in fact DAYS!!!

This morning I went of to my stitching group at our LQS Mallee Tree. I so enjoy Wednesday mornings. Today some group members brought me piles of happiness! Piles of fabric scraps!

These I'll use for my hexies. Sooooo much to sew! So much 1/2" hexie fun!

At last I feel I'm progressing and getting the mariners compass quilt quilted!

Bernie is working hard!

This is the last one!! A lot more pebbles and that's done!

Next is the negative space. I was thinking feathers, but it'll have to be circles. I'll go crazy crazy craaazzzyyyyy!! But what the hell!

Any suggestions out there?
