Two days playing with Kaffe!
Homework today for our Mallee Tree foundation piecing block. Thanks Carolyn for the template. I may make a few more to incorporate into a quilt!
Another session of sewing this afternoon. Sashing added to this quilt. I'm not usually a sashing person, but this quilt seemed to be calling for it. The blocks are put together 'log cabin' style! I do like the wonky look. The black square is in the centre of each block.
Now a search of the stash is called for. May just find an appropriate backing fabric. Otherwise I'll be back to my LQS Mallee Tree.
A few orphans reside here. They tend to move around the wall as other residents come and go.
Great to be back home after a very busy month in sunny Brisbane. I took lots of hand sewing, stitcheries and hexies! But I did miss my 'Nina!
I've had these Regency by Yvonne Porcella fabrics for a few years and they were rediscovered during my recent ' tidy and re-organise' sessions in the sewing room. Really needed to settle back Into a groove with a quick and easy quilt! Not sure about the yellow but will introduce a bit more for balance. It may work? Any suggestions? I made first few blocks with yellow centres. Ghastly!! Black centres proved to be a great improvement!
Such fun!
